Tohoku University launched an undergraduate program "Advanced Molecular Chemistry(AMC) Course" taught in English in the Department of Chemistry in 2011 October.

The Department of Chemistry at Tohoku University is the largest chemistry department in the nation, and offers a highly conductive environment for research and education. The past and current members of the Department are instilled with a strong desire to investigate unknown areas, and have left a legacy of important work in their respective fields.

The Advanced Molecular Chemistry (AMC) Course offers the comprehensive curriculum in chemistry and materials science developed at the Department in collaboration with three research institutes. Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM), Institute for Materials Research (IMR) and WPI-Advanced Institute for Materials Research (WPI-AIMR).

Tohoku University provides pre- and post-enrollment support, the Japanese language training and career support for those entering Japanese or international business worlds, as well as support for those pursuing careers in academia. Tohoku University offers “President Fellowship” scholarship for international undergraduate students who possess outstanding academic ability. MEXT and JASSO government scholarships are available for excellent applicants who are expected to enroll.
